Our educational program focuses on activities that promote the protection of Indigenous Ecological Areas, an innovative conservation model in the Shipibo territory that serves as an alternative to the state approach. This model seeks to preserve the health of the ecosystem by limiting the entry of external agents linked to extractivism, thus guaranteeing Indigenous autonomy and ways of life. Through training spaces and critical thinking, our programs strengthen Indigenous Guards through meetings that provide legal, political, and strategic training, where representatives from various Amazonian communities exchange experiences and strengthen their alliances. We also offer theoretical courses and practical workshops to institutionalise the transmission of Indigenous knowledge and technologies, thereby renewing the transmission of ancestral knowledge for new generations.

The Plants with Mother program focuses on planting methods, the design of chacras (farms), and the study and cultivation of medicinal plants inherited from Shipibo culture. At the Bakish Mai chacra, we rescue ancestral cultivation techniques and experiment with agroforestry practices, seeking efficient ways of reforestation and sustainable use of non-timber products that allow us to face current challenges in our territories.

Through the exploration of ancestral techniques in visual arts and Shipibo music, along with their innovation in contemporary practice, we weave networks of inter-learning that, in their execution, invoke and reaffirm the fundamental knowledge of the Shipibo political worldview, reclaiming its place in the current context and promoting good living.

The seed bank project is essential, given the devastated state of the ecosystem. The urgency to recover native seeds is intrinsically linked to the need to remember what is truly important. This initiative is also carried out in many territories around the world, with Indigenous women as the main leaders.

The worldview workshops are deeply integral, as in Shipibo tradition, everything is intimately connected: art, politics, and the overall well-being of the territory. These programs are conceived as experimentation laboratories to develop alternatives to the industrial extractivist model that others impose indiscriminately on the Amazon.
