MULTIVERSIDAD BAKISH MAI

Located in the Ucayali region, the Bakish Mai Multiversity is an intergenerational center dedicated to the transmission of Indigenous knowledge, focusing on ecology, food autonomy, plant medicine, art, political education, and Indigenous territorial sovereignty.

As a non-profit foundation, the Multiversity Bakish Mai is committed to promoting, revitalizing, and transmitting the knowledge linked to the worldview and life practices of the Shipibo-Konibo-Xetebo people in the Peruvian Amazon.

This educational space specializes in the knowledge of the Shipibo-Konibo culture, presenting it as an epistemic, academic, and practical alternative. These forms of knowledge have resisted the cultural and educational hegemony of colonialism, which is based on a Western and Eurocentric worldview, asserting their value and legitimacy in fields such as medicine, philosophy, art, and politics.
